CDE is a specialty pharmaceutical company that focuses on thedevelopment of transmucosal drug delivery, with special emphasis onsublingual and nasal administration of pharmaceuticals. CDE researchconcentrates on drugs with demonstrated safety and efficacy, and theCompany is developing a number of key niche products aimed towardsachieving rapid onset of drug action for acute medical conditions. Byapplying our proprietary formulation technology, a broad range ofinnovative and ground-breaking products are devised to enable patientsto take control over disease with convenience and speed, whilemaintaining efficacy and safety. The Company is currently located at aresearch facility at the Biotechnology Centre in Hong Kong Science Park.The Company was founded in 2005 by a team of dedicated scientists andprofessionals with various disciplines associated with financing, salesand marketing, pharmaceutical research and development, and corporatemanagement. To guide the company development, CDE is also affiliatedwith a world-class scientific advisory board consisting of accomplishedscientists and industry leaders. As a result of the Company’sinnovation and entrepreneurship, CDE received a number of governmentresearch funding awards and support including approximately HK$2 millionfrom the Innovation and Technology Fund, a grant that supports thepre-venture capital stage of technology start-ups. In addition, CDE wasadmitted as a member company of the Incu-Tech Program at the Hong KongScience Park, which offers operational support and financial assistance.In early 2007, CDE received a clinical certificate from the Hong KongDepartment of Health to begin human study on Propranolol Sublingual (formanagement of anxiety tachycardia), a spearhead product for oursublingual platform. The clinical trial was completed in September 2007.A U.S. patent on "Method of Enhancing Absorptions of TransmucosalAdministration Formulations" has been granted, and is beingextended via the Patent Cooperation Treaty to cover China, Canada,Japan, Australia, European Countries, India, Singapore, and Malaysia.
