The cancer genomics group at Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG),Chinese Academy of Sciences is seeking application for two facultypositions at the level of assistant or associate PROFESSOR dependingupon prior experience and research accomplishments. Under newleadership, BIG is committed to expanding its research program in CANCERGenomics. Through integrative programs combining biochemistry, cellularand molecular biology, and powerful genomics technology platforms, BIGseeks to transform original raw genomics data to basic research insightsrelated to human cancer.

Outstanding individuals with interests in the broad-areas of cancerbiology or genomics are encouraged to apply. The successful candidateswill be becoming part of a team to study the genetic and epigeneticbasis of human leukemia. Current areas of research include: (1)Transcriptional regulation of myeloid development; (2) Genetic andepigenetic regulation of gene expression as a mechanism ofleukemogenesis; (3) Genetic alterations (specifically those involvingregulatory DNA sequences) in human leukemia.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Genetics, Genomics,Bioinformatics, Cell or Molecular biology or other related field.Successful candidates will be expected to perform experiments and/orassist in preparing grant proposal and journal manuscript.

Other responsibilities are to supervise and mentor laboratoryresearchers and graduate students. Technical expertise in ChIP-chip(Chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with microarray) or ChIP-seq(ChIP combined with high throughput sequencing) is a plus.
